Biography

Dr. Hadzikadic-Gusic is board certified in general surgery and surgical oncology (cancer) and specializes in treating breast cancer.
She is an associate professor of surgery at Atrium Health, director of the Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute Bosnian Medical Fund, program director of the Society of Surgical Oncology Breast Fellowship and co-director of the Sandra Levine Young Women’s Breast Cancer Program at Levine Cancer Institute. She has been named a Charlotte Magazine Top Doctor for multiple years.
Surgical oncology combines Dr. Hadzikadic-Gusic’s love of surgery, oncology and research which allows her to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a patient-centered approach to healthcare.
She received a master’s degree and a medical degree at Georgetown University, completed a residency at Boston University and a fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Hadzikadic-Gusic is involved in grant-funded research to compare and assess different techniques to improve breast cancer patient outcomes.
Her time outside of work is spent with her husband and their 2 sons. Travel is her passion as is the outdoors, particularly hiking and skiing. She also loves to read a good book by the fire.
