Biography

“Our patients have a long hospital stay. I love seeing them after they leave the hospital in our clinic and long-term follow-up programs and understanding how far they’ve come!”

Cover is a board-certified physician assistant who specializes in pediatric hematology-oncology with a focus on stem cell transplants at Levine Children's Cancer & Blood Disorders, a facility of Carolinas Medical Center. She is the lead advanced practice provider (APP) for CAR T-cell therapy.

She has a special interest in pediatric cellular therapies, stem cell transplants and oncofertility (reproduction after a cancer diagnosis), as well as supportive and integrative medicine.

Cover feels that transplantation and cellular therapy is a difficult journey. These treatments require extended hospitalization and close monitoring. But she believes this provides an opportunity for continuity of care and the ability to address all aspects of a patient’s physical, mental and emotional health.

Cover received her bachelor’s degree at Bucknell University and her master’s degree at Wake Forest University.

She enjoys traveling and visiting national parks and stays active by running, hiking and practicing yoga. She is a registered yoga teacher.
