Biography

Family medicine allows me to build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients and their families. I believe true health comes from trust, accountability and empowering patients to take ownership of their well-being – with guidance and support along the way.

I am a board-certified family medicine physician with subspecialty training in diabetes. I provide comprehensive care for patients across the lifespan.

My clinical interests include:

  • Type 1 and type 2 diabetes
  • Diabetes management during pregnancy
  • Advanced therapies such as insulin pumps
  • Obesity medicine,
  • Lifestyle medicine
  • Preventive care

I believe optimal health goes beyond prescribing medications and involves partnering with patients as they actively engage in their own health journeys. I’m passionate about developing strong, trusting relationships with patients and their families. I value a collaborative approach to care, emphasizing education, accountability and sustainable lifestyle changes.

I received my medical degree from the University of Guadalajara in Mexico, completed residency in family medicine at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica, New York, and went on to complete a fellowship in diabetes at East Carolina University.

Outside of work, I enjoy dancing, hiking and strength training. I especially love spending time in nature and find joy in slowing down with a cup of coffee while admiring the surrounding landscape.
