Biography
Dr. Temming is engaged throughout Atrium Health in advancing obstetric care to many patients. She works on clinical protocols, research and quality improvement in labor and delivery. She serves on the Charlotte Longitudinal Integrated Curriculum Committee; is a clinical assistant professor with the University of North Carolina; and works to enhance medical education in obstetrics and gynecology.
Charlotte-native Dr. Temming graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with undergraduate degrees in biology and Spanish. Fluent in Spanish, she worked for 4 years after college managing a community health center that served a Spanish-speaking population.
Dr. Temming received her medical degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, followed by residency in OB/GYN at Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. She then completed a fellowship in OB/GYN at Washington University in St. Louis, where she also earned a Master’s of Science in clinical investigation.
Dr. Temming is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and in maternal-fetal medicine by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her clinical and research interests include preterm birth, infectious disease, cervical insufficiency, fetal loss, gestational diabetes, maternal hypertensive disorders, labor management and prevention of post-cesarean infectious morbidity.
Dr. Temming is happily married to her husband, who is an operating nurse with Atrium Health, and they have one child. Her hobbies include traveling, reading and musical theater.
