Biography
“I believe serving others is a tremendous privilege and responsibility. I am thankful for my patients’ trust, and I aim to always provide the highest standard of empathetic, individualized care. In cardiology, we have the amazing opportunity to form lasting relationships. It’s incredibly rewarding to promote healthy lifestyle and behavioral changes, preserve quality of life and help prevent disease progression.”
Dr. Louis Vincent is board certified in internal medicine, clinical lipidology and nuclear medicine. He treats a broad spectrum of conditions, including coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, heart rhythm disorders, heart failure, hypercholesterolemia and cardiomyopathies. He holds a special certification for the management of lipid disorders and has additional expertise in cardiac imaging, including nuclear cardiology, echocardiography and cardiac CT.
From a young age, he was inspired by a group of highly compassionate doctors who cared for his father after suffering a heart attack. During medical school, Dr. Vincent grew fascinated by the mechanics of the heart and the complexities of cardiac care. He values the opportunities to assess each patient’s risk for future events and tailor evidence-based therapies to minimize risk and promote longevity.
Dr. Vincent speaks French fluently and Spanish proficiently, which empowers him to better serve diverse populations.
He has experience in Institutional Review Board (IRB) dependent clinical research and large database-driven research utilizing the National Inpatient Sample (NIS) on a broad spectrum of cardiovascular diseases. Dr. Vincent has published a number of studies as first author in prominent cardiology journals, focusing on nationwide patient outcomes of percutaneous left atrial appendage occlusion device implantation and leadless pacemaker implantation. He has been interviewed by CNN for his expertise on Takotsubo Syndrome (stress cardiomyopathy).
Dr. Vincent received his bachelor’s degree in neuroscience and behavioral biology at Emory University and received his medical degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He completed residency in internal medicine at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital and served as chief resident. Subsequently, he completed his fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Outside of work, Dr. Vincent enjoys running, tennis and spending time with his wife and daughter. New to North Carolina in 2025, Dr. Vincent is also an avid soccer player who looks forward to supporting Charlotte FC.
