Biography

“I believe in providing thoughtful, compassionate, evidence-based care during all phases of illness, from acute hospitalization to chronic disease management. Whether helping a patient recover from a sudden health crisis or managing complex kidney conditions, I’m driven by a commitment to improve quality of life and bring clarity to challenging medical situations. I see every encounter as an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone’s health and well-being.”

Dr. Manish Goyal is board certified in internal medicine and specializes in hospital medicine, nephrology and hypertension. Common conditions he treats include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), congestive heart failure, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, stroke, acute renal failure, metabolic syndrome, hypertension, hyponatremia, chronic kidney disease, end stage renal disease and cellulitis.

Dr. Goyal values the opportunities to care for acutely ill patients as a hospitalist while also supporting long-term kidney care as a nephrologist, creating continuity and depth in care. Both internal medicine and nephrology demand critical thinking, attention to detail and a deep understanding of physiology, which continue to engage him.

While his current focus is on clinical practice, Dr. Goyal is involved in quality improvement efforts in both hospital medicine and nephrology, particularly around optimizing inpatient care coordination and dialysis transitions.

He received his medical degree at Kasturba Medical College in Mangalore, India. He completed residency in internal medicine at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center and a fellowship in nephrology and hypertension at New York-Presbyterian Queens/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Dr. Goyal has 2 children who keep his life fun and active. His interests include astronomy and reading about space as well as traveling, walking and exploring nature around Charlotte. He’s learning to play the guitar, which has become both a creative outlet and a relaxing new challenge for him.
