Biography
“It is a privilege to be allowed into people’s lives in a way where I can really help them. I can truly manage care when I get to know the patients well. I also enjoy the depth and breadth of internal medicine and the problem solving that comes with it.”
Dr. Maram Alkhatib is board certified in internal medicine. She has clinical interests in primary care, preventive care and women’s health.
Before moving to Charlotte, North Carolina, Dr. Alkhatib practiced medicine in Washington, DC, where she was recognized multiple times as a Top Doctor by Washingtonian magazine.
She was drawn to primary care because she feels the long-term relationships she has with patients can help bolster their experience so she can effectively prevent and manage their health conditions while coordinating with other specialists.
Dr. Alkhatib was the recipient of a research scholarship from the American Medical Association Joan Gimbalvo Fund for the Advancement of Women and a grant for qualitative research from George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
Dr. Alkhatib received her medical degree at the RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences in Dublin, Ireland. She completed residency in internal medicine at George Washington University.
Outside of work, she enjoys running, tatreez (traditional Palestinian embroidery) and spending time with family.
