Biography

“Children are our future. As a pediatrician, I have the privilege to meet many families and their children. Through my work and with early interventions, an improved quality of life for patients can result.”

Dr. Boruta is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology (digestive diseases). She focuses on motility disorders, eosinophilic esophagitis (inflamed esophagus), inflammatory bowel disease and gastroesophageal reflux (GERD). She is skilled in advanced endoscopy and manometry procedures (esophageal, antroduodenal, colonic and anorectal). Her research interests include chronic constipation.

She was drawn to working with children during her medical school training and developed an interest in chronic gastrointestinal difficulties during her residency. As a result, she obtained advanced training in pediatric neurogastroenterology and advanced endoscopic techniques.

Dr. Boruta received her medical degree at the University of North Carolina, where she also completed residency in pediatrics. She completed a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Outside of work, she enjoys reading high fantasy books and spending time with her husband, son and their family dog, Pumpkin. They like hiking, biking and traveling together.
