Mary Kathleen Rogers Boruta, MD

Children are our future. As a pediatrician, I have the privilege of meeting many families and their children. Through my work and with early interventions, an improved quality of life for patients can result. 

I was drawn to caring for children during my medical school training. During my residency, I developed a deep interest in chronic gastrointestinal challenges, which led me to pursue advanced training in pediatric neurogastroenterology and advanced endoscopic techniques. 

I am board certified in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology. My clinical focus includes: 

• Motility disorders 

• Eosinophilic esophagitis (inflamed esophagus) 

• Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) 

• Gastroesophageal reflux (GERD) 

Additionally, I am skilled in advanced endoscopy and manometry procedures, including: 

• Esophageal manometry 

• Antroduodenal manometry 

• Colonic manometry 

• Anorectal manometry 

My research interests include chronic constipation. 

I received my medical degree from the University of North Carolina, where I also completed my residency in pediatrics. I then completed a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at the University of Colorado Boulder. 

Outside of work, I enjoy reading high fantasy books and spending time with my husband and our two sons. We love hiking, biking and traveling together.
