Biography

Dr. McConnell is board certified in neurology. He specializes in general neurology, epilepsy, headaches, multiple sclerosis, stroke, neuromuscular disorders and movement disorders.
He became inspired to study neurology after shadowing a psychiatrist in high school. He welcomes the exciting challenges of new discoveries and treatments for the brain and nervous system.
Dr. McConnell received his medical degree at Wake Forest University. He completed residency in neurology at the University of Virginia and a fellowship in epilepsy at the University of North Carolina.
Outside of work, he stays active with skiing, soccer, tennis, ping-pong and exercise classes. Music is his second passion, and he enjoys playing piano and attending live shows. Dr. McConnell enjoys traveling with his fiancée to visit her family in France, visiting his brother in London and exploring other cultures throughout the world.
