Megan L. Amey, PA

“I became a PA so that I could spend more time with patients educating them on their specific disease or condition. I believe if patients are more knowledgeable about their conditions, they better understand the need for their medications and are more willing to make lifestyle changes to prevent chronic diseases.”

Amey is a board-certified physician assistant with a specialty in gastroenterology. She is skilled in treating cirrhosis, gastrointestinal (GI) diseases and conditions and liver diseases, such as fatty liver disease.

She was drawn to gastroenterology because a family member has inflammatory bowel disease, and she wanted to help people with the same condition.

Amey received her physician assistant training at King's College.

Outside of work, she loves spending time with friends, family and her dog, Ellie, exploring Charlotte and the surrounding areas.
