Megan Shirley Hooks, MD

Getting to watch children grow from a newborn all the way into adulthood while developing their own individuality is so special. Working with children offers the unique opportunity to counsel them and their families during the most vulnerable periods of their lives while building close relationships.

I’m trained in general pediatrics. I have a particular passion for newborn care, assisting in navigating developmental and behavioral challenges and treating mental health disorders.

I received my bachelor’s degree in health science at Clemson University and my medical degree at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville. I completed residency in pediatrics at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Away from work, I love to explore coffee shops and restaurants with family and friends. I also enjoy trying out new fitness classes and participating in outdoor activities, such as pickleball and golf. Reading is another passion of mine, especially fiction.
