Biography

“I take pride in educating women on pelvic floor disorders that can affect them after childbirth and as they age. These conditions can range from being mildly bothersome to greatly impacting quality of life. I am passionate about making patients aware of their options for surgical and non-surgical care.”

Dr. Tarr focuses on urogynecology and reconstructive surgery. She has completed subspecialty training in minimally invasive modalities for pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence and pelvic reconstruction.

Dr. Tarr also serves as the program director for the Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at Atrium Health. She is a clinical associate professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UNC School of Medicine Charlotte Campus.

Dr. Tarr has received recognition for her teaching and research. She has been inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and received MVP recognition for her excellent patient care from the chief of staff of the Cleveland Clinic. She has authored several peer-reviewed manuscripts, four book chapters, and has made numerous presentations at national, regional, and local meetings. Her research interests include patient education, resident/fellow surgical simulation education, comparison of surgical methods of prolapse correction, and surgeon ergonomics during laparoscopic and robotic surgery.
