“I want to help mothers have healthy and safe pregnancies. I believe in the words of Michelle Obama: ‘Communities and countries and ultimately the world are only as strong as the health of their women.’”
Congdon is a board-certified nurse practitioner who specializes in general obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN). She focuses on outpatient prenatal care, contraception and nonsurgical treatments of common disorders. She has a special interest in the needs of the underserved.
Her interest in OB/GYN as a specialty began during her experience working in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and developed into a desire to help babies and their families minimize the need for such a stressful experience.
Congdon received her master’s degree in nursing at Queens University.
She is the mother of twin sons and a daughter. She is an active volunteer for organizations that include the Girls Scouts, Room at the Inn, Loaves and Fishes, Bright Blessings and others. As a former Floridian, she enjoys visiting the NC mountains in her free time.
