Dr. DeArment is board certified in pulmonary disease, critical care medicine and sleep medicine.
He has clinical interests in pulmonary diseases, including pleural disorders, asthma, lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD), emphysema, pulmonary thromboembolism (a condition in which one or more arteries in the lungs become blocked with a blood clot) and bronchoscopy (a procedure to look directly at the lungs using a thin, lighted tube).
Additionally, Dr. DeArment is skilled in pulmonary physiology, complex breathing disorders, sleep disorders and critical care.
He is the site-based medical director at Cleveland Pulmonary and Sleep Associates, the ICU medical director at Atrium Health Cleveland, the western market medical director at Atrium Health Adult Medical Services & Specialties and a tuberculosis consultant for the Cleveland County, NC, Health Department.
Dr. DeArment has been named a Top Doctor by Charlotte magazine.
He received his medical degree at Marshall University. He completed residency and a fellowship at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and fly fishing.
