Biography

“I’ve always felt drawn to helping women and couples meet their fertility and reproductive goals. I enjoy trying to make their experience the best it can be.”

Dr. Matthews specializes in reproductive endocrinology and infertility and serves as medical director for the Atrium Health Women's Institute. She specializes in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, and has a special interest in fertility preservation, in vitro fertilization and ovulation induction. She is board certified in reproductive endocrinology and in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN).

Growing up, Dr. Matthews was always interested in science and how it relates to health. She chose to become a doctor so she could apply scientific methods to providing care and helping people meet their health goals.

Dr. Matthews completed medical school at Northeastern Ohio Medical University, followed by a residency at Summa Healthcare System and a fellowship at Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center.

Outside of work, Dr. Matthews enjoys cooking, fitness and spending time outdoors, especially hiking in the mountains.
