Biography
“I love helping individuals meet their reproductive goals, which for many people is creating a family or preserving fertility for the future. I'm fortunate to have the opportunity to work in a career that is continually evolving and provides opportunities to work so closely with people.”
Dr. Matthews is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) and reproductive endocrinology. She specializes in fertility preservation and infertility.
She is the medical director at Atrium Health CMC Women's Institute. She has been named a Top Doctor by Charlotte magazine and a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly.
Dr. Matthews remembers watching the news with her parents about the first pregnancy that occurred from in vitro fertilization (IVF). She knew then that a career in medicine was her calling. She later discovered the combination of science and connection to patients is what makes a career as an OB/GYN so special.
She received her medical degree at Northeastern Ohio Medical University. She completed a residency at Summa Health and a fellowship at Rush University Medical Center, formerly Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center.
Outside of work, Dr. Matthews enjoys CrossFit, baking, hiking and reading historical fiction.
