“I find fulfillment and purpose through the practice of medicine. I feel privileged to be a part of patients’ lives. My goal is to ensure my patients feel supported and heard when receiving treatment in the hospital. I strive to be an advocate for each patient's wishes regarding their health and medical treatment.”
Mikayla Cristino is a board-certified physician assistant. She specializes in neurology for people who are hospitalized and is a neurohospitalist advanced practice provider (APP).
Her passion for neurology began at a young age when her mother was diagnosed with syringomyelia, a spinal condition. Her family’s search for treatment motivated Cristino to develop the diagnostic skills that would lead to her practice specialty.
She is a member of the Pi Alpha Honor Society of the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA).
Cristino received her bachelor’s degree in medical studies at Lenoir-Rhyne University and her master’s degree in physician assistant studies at Wingate University.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her significant other and 2 cats, Lexie and Delilah. She especially likes crime and mystery shows. Her favorite destinations are the beach and other tropical locales.
