Dr. Alvarez is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN). He specializes in high-risk obstetrics, laparoscopic and robotic surgeries, hysterectomies, hysteroscopies, myomectomies and contraception.

He received his medical degree and completed a residency at The University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Alvarez was drawn to the field of OB/GYN because he values building relationships with patients over time while treating women through various life stages. This enables him to see and treat a wide spectrum of issues impacting women. He also enjoys blending his clinical relationship-building skills along with surgical expertise.

He values time outside of work spent with his wife, Suzanne, their daughter, Annie, and son, Walker. They love traveling and spending time outdoors, hiking, going to the beach, golfing and mountain biking. He also enjoys watching college sports, especially the Auburn University Tigers, his alma mater.
