Dr. Naveen is board certified in psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. He specializes in treating disruptive behavior disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, and issues pertaining to gender or sexual variance. He serves as an inpatient attending psychiatrist at Atrium Health Behavioral Health, a facility of Carolinas Medical Center. Dr. Naveen is also a teaching faculty member in the Sandra and Leon Levine Psychiatry Residency Program and the Atrium Health Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship. He was an adjunct assistant professor of psychiatry at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and will be serving in a similar role for the Wake Forest School of Medicine.
He has won multiple awards, including the Most Outstanding Medical Student in Psychiatry from the University of Kentucky and the Atrium Health Brian R. Nagy, MD, Teaching Award. Dr. Naveen is also a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society.
Dr. Naveen received his medical degree at the University of Kentucky. He then completed his residency and fellowship at the University of Maryland.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children. He loves reading, especially mystery novels, psychological thrillers, true crime and historical fiction. Dr. Naveen also likes spending time outside, walking, hiking and exploring parks. He looks forward to regular trips to the beach and to Disney with his family.
