Morkor Newman, MD

I believe every child and family deserves access to excellent health care, and I am here to offer this to the families I take care of.

I am board certified in pediatrics. I focus on primary care, emergency care, well-child visits and sick visits for children up to age 18. I also treat behavioral problems, such as attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety and depression.

I am the assistant specialty medical director of general pediatrics and the site-based medical director of Atrium Health Levine Children's Shelby Children's Clinic.

I received my medical degree at the University of Ghana. I completed residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling with my husband and two children. I like hiking, cooking, movies, having great conversations with friends and reading, especially historical dramas and leadership development books.
