Biography
“I have always been drawn to the physiology of the heart, in particular, the field of electrophysiology. I became fascinated by the complexity of arrhythmias and the rapidly evolving technology used to treat patients. I enjoy using this knowledge to build long-term relationships with patients and working with them to help them find the best, personalized treatment.”
Dr. Patel is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. He specializes in arrhythmias, ablations, cardiac disease, cardiomyopathy and device implantations and extractions.
Dr. Patel is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He received the Ike Muslow, MD Visionary Award for Excellence in Doctor-Patient Relationships while in medical school.
He received his medical degree at Louisiana State University. He completed residency in internal medicine at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Patel completed fellowships in cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology at Wake Forest University. He has served as chief cardiology fellow and chief electrophysiology fellow during his fellowships.
Away from work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He is an avid sports fan who also likes hiking, cooking, and exploring new restaurants.
