Ngina K. Connors MD, MBA is division chief for maternal fetal medicine at Atrium Health.  She is a specialist in maternal fetal medicine with over a decade of experience specializing in high risk pregnancy management in both academic and private practice.

Dr. Connors has been actively engaged throughout the Atrium Health system to advance perinatal services to the thousands of patients served by the system.  Dr. Connors has business expertise and holds a Master Degree in Business Administration.  This is particularly advantageous for leading patient services in our continued climate of healthcare change.  She recognizes the importance of providing value for patients and works closely with her team to provide value within the context of excellent patient care.  She is a co-leader of the Perinatal Quality Collaborative at Atrium Health, a system initiative aimed at developing processes and protocols for high standards of patient care in all system hospitals.  In addition, she is a member on several other system and statewide committees.

A native of Philadelphia, Dr. Connors graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with an undergraduate degree in biology.  She went on to receive her medical degree from the prestigious Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.  She completed an internship in general surgery followed by a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Christiana Care Health System, the largest tertiary care and regional referral system in the state of Delaware.  She completed her fellowship in maternal fetal medicine at Wake Forest Baptist Health and earned her MBA degree from the Wake Forest University School of Business.

Dr. Connors is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and in maternal fetal medicine by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.  Her clinical interests include prenatal fetal diagnosis, maternal hypertensive disorders, and fetal response to in-utero exposures.  Her business interests include operational optimization, strategic planning, and patient experience.

Dr. Connors is happily married to her husband, Thomas, and they have three children.
