“I have been blessed with the opportunity and a skillset to help people in their most vulnerable time when they are experiencing heart attacks and other heart ailments. I consider it a privilege to alleviate suffering, connect with patients in their lowest moments and help them rise out of the situation to a healthier and happier place.”

Dr. Borges is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology. He is skilled in complex coronary artery disease, high risk coronary intervention, chronic total occlusions (CTO), intravascular imaging, structural heart interventions, peripheral intervention and cardiovascular mechanical support devices.

Dr. Borges was drawn to field of cardiology for a variety of reasons. He cherishes the opportunity to partner with patients from all backgrounds and belief systems as they navigate the complex and often daunting task of caring for themselves or loved ones with cardiovascular disease. He believes all patients need an advocate to safeguard their best interests, and he considers it a privilege to serve in this role. Finally, Dr. Borges was intellectually intrigued by the heterogeneity of cardiovascular disease presentations and challenges from a diagnosis and treatment delivery perspective.

He received his medical degree at the University of Kentucky where he graduated valedictorian of his class.
