Biography

Dr. Roy is board certified in urology. He specializes in cancer, kidney disease and surgery, with a focus on robotic and minimally invasive surgery.
Dr. Roy is an associate professor and the chief of urology at Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center. He is the urology department lead on diversity, equity and inclusion. He has been named a Top Doctor by Charlotte magazine for multiple years. Dr. Roy is fluent in Bengali.
His research interests include diversity, equity and inclusion in research pertaining to kidney stone disease and cancer. He has received grant funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for his work in biomedical surgical devices.
Dr. Roy’s educational background includes business and biomedical engineering, and those skills motivate him to seek out new medical technologies and progressive therapies.
He received his medical degree at Vanderbilt University. He completed residency at the University of Virginia and a fellowship at Hofstra University.
Dr. Roy is married with 2 children. In his free time, he enjoys tennis, traveling and taking part in community programs.
