“I have always loved the pediatric patient population. I fell in love with the cardiac population during my residency in the nurse practitioner program. I feel so lucky to be able to work with heart warriors and their families.”
Steadman is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner in acute care. She specializes in pediatrics, pediatric cardiology and pediatric critical care medicine.
She is a member of the Scientific Review Committee for the Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Consortium (PC4). The committee promotes, supports and achieves collaborative scientific work using the PC4 database, a collection of data from cardiovascular intensive care units around the world.
For Steadman, it’s an honor to help children and their families during their hospitalizations, be part of their recoveries and their occasional struggles. She has a son with heart issues, so seeing the successes of her patients makes her very hopeful for her son.
She received her master’s degree in nursing at Rush University.
Outside of work, she loves spending time outdoors with her husband and son, hiking, going to the beach and exploring all that North Carolina has to offer. They love to cook and enjoy having dinners with their friends and family.
