Dr. Parkash Bakhtiani is board certified in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism as well as obesity medicine. He is a certified clinical densitometrist (CCD).
Dr. Bakhtiani’s clinical focus is on diabetes, obesity, metabolic syndrome, lipid disorders, insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitors and closed-loop artificial pancreas systems and bone and mineral disorders.
Additionally, he treats thyroid and parathyroid diseases, bone and mineral disorders, pituitary and adrenal disorders, male hypogonadism (low testosterone), polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and autoimmune diseases in endocrinology.
Dr. Bakhtiani is fascinated by the study of hormones, which serve as potent messengers at the cellular level. Hormones work together to coordinate the physical body, neurological mind and behavioral intellect to function as a cohesive unit.
He has received several awards, including the World Class Performance in Patient Experience and the Henry Christian Award from the American Federation of Medical Research. Additionally, he received the World Class Physician award from AdventHealth Medical Group and was named a Finest Doctor by Orlando Magazine.
Dr. Bakhtiani is involved in several research projects on diabetes care and has received grants from the National Institutes of Health, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Helmsley Trust. He has authored or co-authored numerous publications in the field of endocrinology. He has also served as a peer reviewer for multiple journals, such as the Journal of Diabetes Science and Technology and the Journal of Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism.
He received his medical degree at Chandka Medical College in Larkana, Pakistan. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Nevada and a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at Oregon Health & Science University.
Outside of work, Dr. Bakhtiani loves to watch movies, travel and play with his children. He also loves to play and watch cricket.
