Dr. Jenkins specializes in family medicine and sports medicine. He is board certified in both specialties. He’s especially interested in preventive medicine, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), hypertension, diabetes, concussions and non-operative orthopedics (sprains, strains, overuse injuries and fracture care).
Dr. Jenkins was inspired to study medicine because he enjoyed helping people and facing the daily challenges of being a doctor. Family medicine and sports medicine appealed to him because they gave him a chance to develop relationships with patients who were of different ages and experience a range of ailments.
Dr. Jenkins earned his medical degree from the University of Kentucky and completed both his residency and fellowship at the University of South Carolina.
He enjoys spending time on any body of water, traveling with his wife, hiking, running and cooking.
