Biography

As a lifelong athlete, I’ve experienced the injury and recovery process firsthand, from the initial evaluation to the hard work of rehabilitation to the thrill of returning to the field. Sports shaped who I am, and the lessons they taught me drive my passion for helping others stay active and pursue the activities they love.

I believe physical activity is essential for a person’s overall well-being, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. I understand that injuries often create barriers extending well beyond the body, and I take great pride in helping patients overcome those challenges, return to the activities they love and become the best versions of themselves.

I’m board certified in family medicine with a certificate of added qualification in sports medicine. I specialize in the diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of musculoskeletal conditions.

I have clinical interests and expertise in:

  • diagnostic ultrasound
  • ultrasound-guided procedures
  • advanced injection therapies
  • orthobiologic treatments

I also incorporate individualized exercise prescriptions as a core part of an evidence-based approach to care.

I earned two bachelor’s degrees at Emory & Henry University and my medical degree at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Paul L. Foster School of Medicine. I completed residency at Atrium Health Cabarrus Family Medicine and a fellowship in sports medicine at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center. I currently serve as the associate program director of the Cabarrus Sports Medicine Fellowship.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and children, staying active through varied training routines, playing pickup soccer and the occasional family movie night.
