Biography
“Children are just wonderful to be around. Every day, I am so thankful I get to do what I absolutely love, which is be a part of so many families' lives as their pediatrician. It is truly an honor and so exciting and rewarding.”
Dr. Peterson is board certified in pediatrics. She cares for patients from birth to 21 years old.
She decided she wanted to be a pediatrician in the 1st grade and never wavered from it! She loves working with children and feels grateful to work in the pediatric practice she went to as a child. She enjoys seeing the variety of patients in pediatrics, whether for a well check-up or something more complex.
Dr. Peterson received her medical degree at East Carolina University and completed a residency at Wake Forest University. Following residency, she served on faculty at Wake Forest University as chief resident. She is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband, 2 boys and 2 dogs, a stubborn English bulldog and a lovable Labrador retriever. She enjoys running, traveling, swimming and just being outside doing activities with her family.
