“My philosophy is centered on patient empowerment and partnership. I believe each person deserves to be an active participant in their own health care journey. My goal is to create a trusting and collaborative environment where we can work together to make informed decisions that align with individual needs, values and goals. I am passionate about not just treating disease, but equipping patients with the knowledge and resources to live a healthier, fuller life.”
Dr. Pratik Shah is a doctor of osteopathic medicine. He provides comprehensive primary care, preventive medicine, health screenings, nutrition education and lifestyle medicine for adults. He strives to serve as a true advocate for his patients as they navigate the complexities of their conditions and celebrate their progress.
Dr. Shah’s research focuses on infectious diseases, diagnostic innovations and integrative medicine approaches. Key research areas include ultrasound-guided osteopathic manipulative treatment for spinal conditions, microbial cell-free DNA for diagnosing bloodstream infections, nutrition education in primary care settings and quality improvement in clinical transitions of care. He has led research on using next-generation sequencing for rapid diagnosis of infective endocarditis, and he is currently investigating how ultrasound can enhance osteopathic treatment outcomes. His research publications include Clinical Infectious Diseases, Journal of Osteopathic Medicine and Nature Reviews Microbiology.
He is a member of the Sigma Sigma Phi Medical Honor Society.
Dr. Shah received his bachelor’s degree at Duke University and his master’s degree in physiology and biophysics at Georgetown University. He received his degree in osteopathic medicine at Nova Southeastern University and completed residency in internal medicine at University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville Prisma Health.
Away from work, he loves staying active. An avid golfer and cricket player, Dr. Shah also enjoys running and exploring healthy, vegetarian recipes from different cuisines. He’s deeply involved in the local Jain community’s service projects, including free health clinics and youth mentoring.
