Dr. Punit Sarna is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. He specializes in echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, congestive heart failure, vascular imaging, hypertension and lipid (cholesterol) management. He has a special interest in lifestyle medicine and the benefits of a whole-food, plant-based diet on cardiac wellness.
His father was a cardiac patient, and Dr. Sarna became inspired to pursue a career in cardiology after observing the relationship between his father and the health care team who managed the condition.
Dr. Sarna received his bachelor’s degree at Santa Clara University and his medical degree at the University of Southern California. He completed residency in internal medicine at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. He then completed his cardiology fellowship at East Carolina University. He completed additional fellowship training in heart failure and echocardiography at the University of California San Francisco.
He is married with 3 children and a lovable Labradoodle named Lilah. The family enjoys spending their free time together, traveling and exploring their local neighborhood locales and parks.
