Quimby E. McCaskill, MD, MPH

I chose a career in pediatrics because I’ve always enjoyed working with children. Every day, I’m motivated by the opportunity to help children and families thrive, and I offer support to other health care providers by sharing what I have learned over more than 25 years in medicine.

My goal is to help families recognize the full potential of their children and guide them along the path toward achieving it.

My approach to care starts with listening. I combine medical expertise with a deep understanding of the emotional and behavioral factors that affect children's well-being. Families deserve the time and attention needed to fully discuss their concerns, and I work closely with them to make decisions that fit their child's unique needs. I strive to connect with children on their level, whether through conversation, humor or simply making them feel comfortable. With me, you can expect a doctor who exhibits compassion, dedication and commitment to helping the overall health of the community I serve.

I am board certified in pediatrics and have special interests in behavioral health and epidemiology. I have extensive experience diagnosing and treating:

• Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
• Anxiety
• Depression

I also hold a master's degree in public health with a concentration in epidemiology, which gives me a strong foundation in population health and evidence-based care.

I’ve served in numerous leadership and academic roles throughout my career. I currently serve as the assistant specialty medical director for the Advocate Heaelth outheast Region, which follows my work as site-based medical director for Atrium Health Levine Children's Rock Hill Pediatrics (Gold Hill and Doby's Bridge locations) in Fort Mill, South Carolina. I also serve as an adjunct assistant professor of pediatrics at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

Prior to joining Advocate Health, I held leadership positions at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville, where I served as assistant division chief of community pediatrics,

director of the pediatric residency continuity clinic program and coordinator for several medical student and resident education programs.

In 2003, I was recognized as the recipient of the Louis S. Russo Award for Outstanding Professionalism in Medicine. I have also been recognized with numerous Apple Awards for Teaching Excellence. In 2024, I received the Excellence in Student Teaching Award from Wake Forest University. I have authored or co-authored several peer-reviewed publications focused on pediatric care, community health, medical education and children with special health care needs. I remain dedicated to mentoring future physicians and advancing pediatric medicine through teaching and scholarship.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my family and playing golf. My wife Suzanne and I enjoy traveling when we can. We’ve been married for 25 years, and we have two adult children, both collegiate golfers.
