Biography
“I am committed to providing the highest standard of surgical care for all skin cancer patients. The success rates I am able to offer using the Mohs technique, and the relationships I build with my patients, are sources of continuous gratification.”
Dr. Ramiz Hamid is board certified in dermatology and micrographic dermatologic surgery. He specializes in performing Mohs micrographic surgery for the treatment of high-risk skin cancers.
After seeing the devastating impact of untreated skin cancer on people's lives, he chose to become a Mohs micrographic surgeon so he could offer more successful outcomes for patients. He was particularly drawn to the precision and artistry involved in reconstructive surgery after tumor removal.
He has served for multiple years on government affairs, health policy and coding committees for the American Academy of Dermatology.
Dr. Hamid received his bachelor’s degree at Davidson College and master’s degree in public health (MPH) at Harvard University. He received his medical degree at Wake Forest University, where he was awarded a full scholarship from the Wake Forest Medical Scholars Fund.
Dr. Hamid completed residency in dermatology at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, where he served as chief resident. He completed a fellowship in micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology at the Dayton Skin Surgery Center.
Outside of work, Dr. Hamid enjoys playing tennis with his wife, reading books with his children, volunteering at free clinics and rooting for the Carolina Panthers.
