Renyta Nyasha Scales, MD

I encounter children and families in their most vulnerable moments when they may be looking for answers or desiring to be heard. It is a privilege to participate in those vulnerable moments, and it brings me joy to use my expertise to comfort and provide care in that space.

Children have always held a special place in my heart, and I appreciate the opportunities to watch children as they grow and develop. I especially enjoy providing care for term and late-preterm infants and their families during the first few days after birth and caring for children of all ages while admitted to the hospital.

I am board certified in general pediatrics. I focus on newborn care and inpatient general pediatrics.

I received my bachelor’s degree at Lincoln University of Pennsylvania. I received my medical degree at Pennsylvania State University.

Outside of work, I am active in the dance fitness community, particularly engaging in Zumba and MixxedFit classes. I also enjoy traveling to new places both domestically and internationally, exploring new adventures in the Charlotte area and spending quality time with my family and friends.
