Dr. Smits is the vice chair at Atrium Health Primary Care Cabarrus Family Medicine Concord and is board certified in family medicine and hospital medicine. He received the Most Valuable Attending Physician Award in 2020 and the Distinguished Service Award in 2015 from the Cabarrus Family Medicine Residents.
Dr. Smits enjoys working with patients of every age to help them make difficult health-related decisions and overcome the barriers that are preventing them from getting better.
He received his medical degree at Saba University and completed his residency at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Smits loves spending time outside having fun with his wife and children.
