Richard A. Van Meter, MD

Dr. Van Meter is board certified in family practice. He is the medical director at Atrium Health Riverwood Medical Associates. He specializes in full-spectrum primary care: diabetes, heart disease, pediatrics and geriatrics.

Dr. Van Meter was inspired to pursue medicine after watching the TV show "M*A*S*H" as a child and because of his fascination with biology and the human body.

He received his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College and completed his residency at the University of Virginia.

He enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children, playing tennis, hiking and biking. They also love to travel.
