Biography

Dr. Robert Costa is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN). Conditions he treats include hypothyroidism in pregnancy, gestational diabetes, endometriosis, fibroids, menopause and hormonal problems, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, pelvic prolapses, infections and sexually transmitted diseases. He is skilled in procedures such as amniocentesis, colposcopy, cytopathology, laparoscopy and hysterectomy. Additionally, he provides evaluations and treatments for uterine bleeding, hormone replacement therapy and contraception and reproductive counseling.
He has always felt the calling to help people, especially women and families. He believes becoming an OB/GYN doctor was the obvious choice based on his personality, strengths and passion to help women advocate for their own health care needs.
Dr. Costa received his bachelor’s degree at Providence College, where he graduated cum laude. He received his medical degree at Brown University.
Away from work, Dr. Costa enjoys being outdoors and spending time with his wife.
