Biography

“As a cardiac surgeon with a specific focus on aortic surgery, I get to help the most critically ill patients. These patients often have immediate, life-threatening emergencies. Helping these folks in this time of need is what motivates me. I also love the technical aspects of cardiac surgery. Being able to reconstruct the heart and immediately evaluate the results is incredibly satisfying. Working in a large team with anesthetists, nurses and a perfusionist is very rewarding.”

Dr. Sabin Bozso is trained in adult cardiac surgery and aortic surgery.

He was honored as an American Association of Thoracic Surgery C. Walton Lillehei Resident Forum Finalist.

Dr. Bozso is principally involved in clinical research including major trials for novel aortic devices to treat aortic dissection. His doctoral thesis work has been the basis for several patents that are filed in North America, Europe and Asia as well as the creation of a company, Solidified Inc., seeking to commercialize their technology.

Dr. Bozso received his medical degree at the University of Alberta in Alberta, Canada, where he also received a doctorate for his thesis studying the immunologic mechanisms of structural valve deterioration and refining tissue engineering methods to create a shelf-stable, durable and non-immunogenic heart valve.

He and his wife have a beautiful daughter, and the family loves spending time together outside. The couple loves to hike, bike and run. Dr. Bozso grew up in Alberta, Canada, in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and he is an avid skier.
