Biography

“Sustaining a traumatic injury can be life-altering. As an orthopedic trauma surgeon, I provide patient-centered care at a troubling time in people’s lives. While recovering from trauma can be a long and challenging road, I get to know my patients and their families well. The best part of my job is seeing a healed patient move on from the clinic. It’s a bittersweet goodbye!”

Dr. Sarah Pierrie is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon. She treats fractures and complications of musculoskeletal injuries such as infections and deformities, upper and lower extremity limb injuries and fractures of the pelvis and hip.

She received a Military Traveling Fellowship from the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Dr. Pierrie enjoys working with other specialists to help people achieve their functional goals and improve their quality of life after accidents and injuries.

She received her medical degree at the University of North Carolina and completed residency at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center. She completed a fellowship in orthopedic trauma at the University of Cincinnati.

Outside of work, Dr. Pierrie likes baking with her kids, doing home improvements, reading contemporary and historical fiction, traveling, skiing and staying active.
