Biography
“I enjoy seeing and understanding the whole patient and carefully reviewing their complete history and exam with them. We are always learning more about diagnosing and treating neurological illnesses, and our progress has been most rewarding.”
Dr. Freiman is board certified in neurology, specializing in inpatient care and the diagnosis and treatment of stroke. She is co-chair of the Stroke Department at Atrium Health Union.
As a child, she witnessed her great uncle’s participation as one of the first patients to receive levodopa for early-onset Parkinson’s. She later volunteered to work with patients diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, leading to a unique perspective and understanding of adults and children with special needs. Much of this experience shaped Dr. Freiman’s choice of career.
She received her undergraduate degree in biology from Boston University and her medical degree at New York Medical College. She completed a neurology residency at Saint Vincent’s Medical Center and a residency in neuromuscular medicine at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
She is married with 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
