Dr. Makemson is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) and is a menopause society certified provider. He specializes in gynecologic care, routine and high-risk prenatal care, and labor, delivery and contraception management.
Additionally, he is skilled in medical and minimally invasive surgical treatments of abnormal uterine bleeding and fibroids, including laparoscopic hysterectomies and endometrial and fibroid radiofrequency ablations.
He is an assistant specialty medical director at Atrium Health Women’s Services.
Dr. Makemson received his medical degree and completed his OB/GYN residency at the University of Cincinnati and moved to Charlotte in 1999.
Outside of work, he is the father of 3 children, including twin daughters and a younger son, who are his number one priority. He has always enjoyed the simple things with them, like time spent around the dinner table or watching college football together, especially if he has tried a new recipe on the grill and the Ohio State Buckeyes are winning.
