Biography

“I enjoy all aspects of cardiac care. Many cardiac conditions are preventable or manageable with lifestyle changes. Helping a patient control blood pressure, cholesterol, quit smoking or lose weight will not only prevent future cardiac events, but improves patients' quality of life and the way they feel about themselves each and every day.”

Dr. Sherryl Croitor is board certified in cardiovascular disease and specializes in adult echocardiography and nuclear cardiology.

She has clinical interests in hypertension, hyperlipidemia (high levels of lipids) and high cholesterol, women's heart health, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, obesity, valvular heart disease, shortness of breath, cardiomyopathy and heart muscle disease.

Dr. Croitor has a particular interest in cardiovascular prevention and women's cardiovascular health. Her grandmother died suddenly of a heart attack at age 51, and she has a strong family history of hypertension, obesity and preventable disorders. She enjoys cardiology because she can establish relationships with patients and families over several years.

Dr. Croitor received her master’s degree in nursing at Pace University and her medical degree at St. George’s University. She completed residency at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School  and completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Columbia University. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Cardiology (FACC).

She received the Golden Stethoscope Award for Outstanding Clinical Achievement from St. George’s University.

Away from work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, their 2 children and 2 dogs. They like traveling, exploring new areas and taking walks with their dogs.
