Biography

Child abuse pediatrics is a challenging field to work in, but I value my job in promoting child abuse prevention and providing education to increase the recognition and assessment of child maltreatment. I provide compassionate and comprehensive care to the children I evaluate in order to promote their overall health and well-being.

I am board certified in pediatrics and child abuse pediatrics. My focus is on evaluating children with signs of possible maltreatment.

I am a clinical assistant professor for the Atrium Health Levine Children's Child Protection Team.

I dreamed of becoming a doctor as a child and chose pediatrics because I love working with children and their families. I enjoy the multidisciplinary aspect of my subspecialty field in collaborating with members of other teams.

I received my medical degree at East Carolina University. I completed residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in child abuse pediatrics at Duke University.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, doing various home improvement projects and exploring new restaurants.
