Biography

“There is nothing I find more rewarding or important than serving patients in need, treating complex vascular diseases and making people’s lives better. The care I provide leads to fulfilling, long-term patient relationships.”

Dr. Stephen Raulli is trained in vascular surgery. Conditions he treats include aortic aneurysms, aortic dissections, carotid artery disease, peripheral artery disease, hemodialysis access and venous disease.

He was privileged to serve as a U.S. Navy pilot. When it came time to make a career change, he chose the dynamic environment of vascular surgery, which is continually evolving and challenging. Dr. Raulli enjoys complex case planning, innovative problem solving and treating patients with both traditional open surgery and minimally invasive, endovascular surgery.

His research focuses on aortic surgery, acute and chronic limb-threatening ischemia, hemodialysis access, trauma and pediatric vascular surgery.

Dr. Raulli received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry at the United States Naval Academy and a master’s degree in advanced chemical engineering practice at the University of Cambridge in England. He received his medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine and completed residency in vascular surgery at the University of North Carolina.

In his free time, he likes to run, hike and play all racquet sports. As a former Navy F/A-18 pilot who served on the USS Enterprise, Dr. Raulli still enjoys aviation and reading about military history. He and his wife, a radiologist, are the proud parents of a son and a daughter.
