Biography

“I chose the specialty of cardiology as I enjoy the wide breadth of care we can provide. I find it especially rewarding to take care of critically ill patients in the ICU, see their progress through to recovery and hospital discharge and be able to continue their care in an outpatient setting.”

Dr. Rennyson is board certified in internal medicine and general cardiology. He has special interests in cardiac critical care and congestive heart failure.

He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow of the Heart Failure Society of America. His research interests include participating in multiple clinical trials that focus on congestive heart failure. These include PARADISE-MI, PARAGLIDE-HF, GALACTIC-HF and others.

Dr. Rennyson received his medical degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He completed residency in internal medicine at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center and a fellowship in cardiology at Virginia Commonwealth University.

He and his wife have 3 grown children. Outside of work, Dr. Rennyson is an active triathlon competitor.
