Dr. Stephen Sims is board certified in orthopedic surgery. He focuses on orthopedic trauma and treating fractures. 

He served as chair of the not-for-profit organization AO Trauma North America, a global network of surgeons and the world’s leading education, innovation and research organization specializing in the surgical treatment of trauma and musculoskeletal disorders. He has been named a Top Doctor multiple times by Charlotte magazine.

Dr. Sims has been involved in multiple areas of research related to orthopedic trauma and rehabilitation and has co-authored more than 100 publications. He has been awarded over $5 million in grants.

Dr. Sims received his bachelor’s degree at Clemson University and his medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed residency at Virginia Commonwealth University and the prestigious AO North America Martin Allgöwer Memorial Fellowship in trauma.

Outside of work, he enjoys woodworking, fly fishing, spending time outdoors and watching his grandchildren grow up.
