Biography
“Patients can have difficult problems, but the technology and team we have allow us to provide treatments that can offer cures or expand quantity and quality of life.”
Dr. Burri is board certified in radiation oncology and specializes in brain tumors, breast and skin cancers.
He was named a Best Doctor in America by Castle Connolly and a Top Doctor by Charlotte Magazine and Business North Carolina.
Dr. Burri was part of a team that pioneered the use of radiosurgery prior to the resection of brain metastases as a novel technique. Previously, he was the national principal co-investigator for a trial that established focal treatment of brain metastases as the standard of care. The results of the study were published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA).
He became interested in radiation oncology because he feels it is a solutions-based specialty that relies upon a team of highly trained professionals who come together for the benefit of the patient. He comes to work each day with the goal of making everyone's life a little better, whether it’s a patient, a member of the staff or someone else.
Dr. Burri received his medical degree at Emory University.
He is married with 3 children and enjoys traveling with his family, particularly internationally. Their favorite trip was a safari in Kenya. He also enjoys golf and spending time at the beach with his wife.
