Biography

It is my privilege to empower families with clear, compassionate guidance that helps their children achieve greater health and vitality through life’s important transitions. I’m motivated every day by the trust families place in me. I strive to provide personalized, evidence‑based endocrine care that ensures each child feels supported, understood and empowered throughout their journey.

I believe in Atrium Health’s mission to deliver compassionate, equitable patient‑centered care. I work closely with children and their families to develop personalized treatment plans that honor their goals, values and lived experiences, while helping them make informed decisions that fit their needs and lifestyle.

I’m a board‑certified pediatric endocrinologist with internal medicine and pediatric residency training and more than two decades of clinical, academic and leadership experience. My practice spans inpatient and outpatient care, management of complex and rare endocrine conditions. I also have a strong interest in endocrine care for children with special needs, supported by many years of experience providing specialized services through Children’s Rehabilitative Services (CRS).

My clinical interests and focus areas include:

  • Growth, puberty, thyroid and adrenal disorders
  • Endocrine late effects in childhood cancer survivors
  • Complex and multidisciplinary endocrine conditions

My career includes leadership roles, such as serving as the director of the Phoenix Children’s Diabetes Center. I have taught and mentored medical students, residents and fellows, and I have served as course director, faculty council and advisor for multiple academic programs.

I’ve been honored with awards recognizing excellence and humanism in medicine, including Phoenix magazine’s Top Doctor, America’s Best Doctors, the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award, Patient’s Choice distinctions and recognition for family‑centered care and public health. My scholarly work includes peer‑reviewed publications, IRB‑approved studies, national abstracts and clinical trials focused on pediatric diabetes, precocious puberty and innovations in medical education, along with presentations at national and international conferences.

I am a proud mother of two teenage boys and have been happily married for 25 years. I’m especially inspired by my son’s journey with autism. When I’m not enjoying time in nature, I love cooking, gardening and playing viola.
