Biography
“I believe I can truly help patients be better and feel better. I have been the provider, patient and the anxious family member at the bedside and in the waiting room. With these universal experiences, I am uniquely poised to empathize with patients and families.”
Dr. Talitha Brown is board certified in general surgery and treats conditions that affect the appendix, gallbladder, groin, colon and breast. These include benign breast disease and cancer, colon cancer, hernias, diabetic foot wounds and amputations. She is skilled at performing endoscopies and minimally invasive surgeries, including robotics.
She chose to practice surgery because she can offer definitive solutions to painful and life-altering conditions. She values the opportunities to build relationships and accompany patients through challenging times.
From her work as a rural surgeon, Dr. Brown received a Nizar N. Oweida Scholarship Award from the American College of Surgeons. She has also been named a Business North Carolina Top Doctor.
Dr. Brown received her bachelor’s degree in biology and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in health management at Eastern University and her medical degree at the University of Iowa. She completed residency in general surgery at Einstein Medical Center and a fellowship in general surgery at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
Away from work, she stays busy raising her son. She is also a “dog mom” who likes traveling domestically and internationally, enjoying motorized water sports and attending professional sporting events, especially gymnastics and NBA games.
