“Experiencing traumatic orthopedic injuries can be life-altering and I believe my ability to offer encouragement and motivation is key to optimizing outcomes. Treating older adults is also a passion for me, as I appreciate the opportunity to learn about their lives while guiding rehabilitation for an injury or difficult joint pain.”
Strickland is a physical therapist with a doctoral degree. She enjoys working with orthopedic trauma and geriatric populations. She is also a certified athletic trainer.
She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of North Florida and her master’s degree in physical therapy from Acadia University. She completed her doctorate at Alabama State University.
Strickland has been involved in research with the Atrium Health Return to Performance Pathway Program focusing on traumatic lower leg and foot injuries and early weight bearing approaches.
When she’s not working, Strickland enjoys being outdoors, especially running, biking and walking. She also likes reading nonfiction and baking desserts to enjoy with a friend. Being involved in her daughters’ lives and listening to their stories and revelations brings her great joy.
